Spend time with over 750 species on a London Zoo school trip. Immerse students in the sights, sounds and experiences of life in the animal kingdom.

Centre of the Cell

Placing science in context, this is the first science education centre in the world to be located within medical laboratories. Sudents will experience unique science shows, digital interactive games, human specimens and interactive microscopes. All groups are joined by a STEM ambassador who studetns can question about the life of a scientist and their own career choices.

We can also book you a fun-filled and curriculum linked Science Show or Workshop. The content relates to cells and the human body, and all of the Shows and Workshops have specific curriculum links.

Can you discover the sneaky scientific secrets behind the illusions? The show will challenge you to think creatively like a scientist and a magician. The interactive show encourages enquiry, using magic tricks to inspire students’ imaginative engagement with scientific ideas and technological developments.

Run by Dr Matt Pritchard, who works for organisations like Royal Institution, British Science Association and The Big Bang fairs, these interactive science and maths magic shows will inspire and inform students.

Are superpowers fact, fiction or feasible in the future? Explore x-ray vision, super strength, invisibility, levitation, telekinesis and mind-reading and find out what they do (or don’t) have to do with real science like forces and motion, light and radiation, waves, electricity, psychology and neuroscience.

Science & Maths Magic Shows - Something About Nothing

Run by Dr Matt Pritchard, who works for organisations like Royal Institution, British Science Association and The Big Bang fairs, these interactive science and maths magic shows will inspire and inform students.

Nothing is notoriously hard to grasp. However, this show will attempt to fill in the empty gaps and explain almost everything there is to know about nothing. A comedy show uniquely fusing magic, multimedia and mathematics that explores the history, maths, science and philosophy behind nothing.

The Wellcome Collection

The Wellcome Collection explores the connections between medicine, life and art in the past, present and future.

The venue provides an insight to anyone seeking to understand biology, medicine and the role of medicine in society – past and present. Free guided tours of exhibitions are available for pre-booked groups.

 

Sleep Assessment & Advisory Service (SAAS) session

During a 90 ­minute session with a sleep expert from the Sleep Assessment & Advisory Service (SAAS), students will explore the links between sleep and wakefulness. Created by Dr Chris Idzikowski, the country's leading expert in sleep and director of the Sleep Assessment and Advisory Service, this unique session draws on his experience of more than 30 years in the field which includes running a sleep disorders centre, investigating the effects of drugs on sleep, giving expert advice at major criminal trials and publishing several books.

You can choose to focus on a range of study themes including: Sleep Research, Sleep Disorders; Sleep and the Law; Sleep and dreaming, Mental Illness and Sleep.­ Your session can be tailored to suit the specific learning requirements of your group. For example, for GCSE groups "Sleep research" can be turned into an opportunity to learn about "Research methods" used in psychological research. 

Thames River Cruise

Take in London’s best-loved sights on this enjoyable cruise. Your students will gain an insight into the many layers of history that have built up along the river, from the Houses of Parliament and Tower Bridge to the 'lastminute.com' London Eye.

Since 2000, this world-famous structure has taken over 75 million people on a journey into London’s skyline. Be inspired with our Skyline Workshops. At an additional cost, these enhanced in-pod experiences are delivered by our education hosts and include interactive activities and interesting facts on London's iconic skyline.

Developed in collaboration with education specialists, teachers can book either a KS2/KS3 version.

The Legacy of London 2012 – Guided Olympic Site Tour

HALF & FULL DAY OPTION AVAILABLE

Come and witness the legacy of London 2012 and see the Olympic Park area following the exciting urban regeneration programme which transformed the face of East London. Your Blue Badge Guide can take you even closer to the venues, driving right next to the Velodrome, the BMX track, and the Olympic and the Paralympic Villages. The coach will travel around the edge of the Olympic Park before making a stop at the Olympic Stadium, the Aquatics Centre and the Orbit. The tour also affords fantastic views of the International Broadcast Centre and the Copper Box venue. Weather permitting, there are opportunities to get off the coach and explore.

You’ll then head to the Royal Docks to view ExCel, which hosted seven Olympic sports and five Paralympic sports. Then to Woolwich to see the magnificent facade of the Royal Artillery Barracks, the venue for shooting and for the Paralympic archery. The tour ends at Greenwich with a walk in the Park where the Equestrian events and the Modern Pentathlon had such a spectacular setting.

Warner Bros. Studio Tour London - The Making of Harry Potter

Step on to authentic sets, discover the magic behind spellbinding special effects and explore the behind-the-scenes secrets of the Harry Potter film series. Tread the original stone floor of the iconic Hogwarts Great Hall, encounter animatronic creatures and wander down Diagon Alley. Your Harry Potter World school trip is located at the Studios where all 8 films were produced.

45 minute workshops are also available, covering Art and Design, Business Studies, English and Drama, Film and Media and STEM subjects, as well as Primary.

The View from The Shard offers a unique education experience – it is the only place where students can see the entire city at once; both old and new! Two high speed kaleidoscopic lifts will transport your group to the viewing platforms on Level 69 and Level 72 where you can encourage your student’s fascination with the history of London and enjoy the unparalleled 360 degree views.

Medical Projects

We're delighted to offer a bespoke half-day course that is designed to give your students an insight into what life's really like working as a healthcare professional.  They will get an expert talk, along with the opportunity to try some experiential activities, such as suturing and venepuncture.

During this four-hour visit, your students will get:

Science Gallery

The Science Gallery is part of a mission by King’s College London to connect art, science and health to drive innovation and creative thinking in the heart of the city. The free-to-visit space is at London Bridge, and three seasons will each focus on a theme through exhibitions, events, performances, live experiments, open discussions and festivals. All will have scientific engagement at their core and the programming draws on and reflects a broad range of expertise in health and wellbeing.

BodyWorlds Museum

BodyWorlds London is the perfect place for your trip. The plastinates and thought-provoking interactives will educate and challenge students, making it possible for the entire group to study the inner workings of the human body into great detail – up to the smallest hair vein! There are more than 200 exhibits, spread over six galleries, split into the following sections: Locomotive System, Cardiovascular System, Reproductive System, Nervous System, Digestive System and the Respiratory System. The museum experience educates about the inner workings of the human body, showing the effects that daily lifestyle choices have on our health. Set up in the former home of Ripley’s Believe It or Not, BodyWorlds offers comprehensive education packs to guide students and teachers during their visit, catering for Key Stages 3, 4 and 5. All are linked to the National Curriculum. An unforgettable field trip your group will be talking about for years to come!

CSI Forensic Workshop

Students will learn and engage in practical ‘hands-on’ activities relating to evidence preservation and retrieval at a Crime Scene Investigation. Activities include dusting for fingerprints, hair & fibre analysis and UV detection.

Emirates Aviation Experience Exhibition

Explore the Aviation Experience with this self-guided tour of the exhibition. Learn about different aspects of the aviation industry, including what happens to aircraft on the ground, the roles and responsibilities of cabin crew and the advances in aircraft technology. Then discover the science behind flight and examine a real Rolls-Royce jet engine. 

To further your students’ experience, you can also add a flight simulation experience.

Sphere Science – Buggies Workshop

In this 90 minute interactive workshop, students will each build and test a buggy powered by a balloon. They will work out all the independent variables and choose one to investigate its effect on a dependant variable.
