Claire

NST Field Studies Guide

An experienced teacher and field trip leader, Claire has been key in developing our geography programme. A Zoology/Marine Zoology graduate Claire has travelled all over the world, led two month-long expeditions, and spent two years teaching and heading the biology department on the Isle of Arran.

Dave

NST Field Studies Guide

After completing a joint honours degree in Geography and History, for 25 years Dave has been involved in outdoor learning at a number of locations throughout the UK. Dave holds an MLTB Summer Award and a HNC in Off Site Safety Management.

David

NST Field Studies Guide

Geology graduate, David, worked as an Expedition Science Leader in Botswana, an Earth Science Field Studies Tutor, a Grand Canyon ranger, and was on a biodiversity survey of Montserrat as the volcano started erupting. He has been on Earth Science trips to Antarctica and coring of the Pacific sea floor.

Helen

NST Field Studies Guide

Keen physical Geographer, Helen, taught secondary geography for 13 years, was a Senior Tutor for the Field Studies Council for five years, is qualified as a Summer, Winter and International Mountain Leader, has 25 years' experience as a mountain rescuer and runs her own first aid and mountain training company.

Martin

NST Field Studies Guide

Martin is a retired teacher with degrees from both Portsmouth University and the University of Kent. His main specialisms have been Geography and Geology and he has gained much experience in outdoor education, youth work and the Duke of Edinburgh scheme.

Paul

NST Field Studies Guide

Paul graduated from the University of Nottingham with a BSc Joint Honours in Chemistry and Geology. After taking a PGCE he taught Geology, Geography, Chemistry and Science in schools in Nottingham, Oldham and Bradford. He has also run the Duke of Edinburgh Award and has an NPQH.

Rebecca

NST Field Studies Guide

Rebecca has a PhD in Glacial Geomorphology. She travelled to many cold, mountainous regions during her undergraduate degree where she studied in Canada for a year. She holds the International Mountain Leader award and works around the world as an expedition leader.

Rob

NST Field Studies Guide

A geology masters graduate and qualified mountain leader specialising in Volcanology and Glaciology, Rob enjoys helping people learn about amazing places around the world. He has undertaken fieldwork in Iceland and the Alps, and been involved with expeditions across Scandinavia and Arctic Canada.

Samantha

NST Field Studies Guide

Sam has taught Geography and Environmental Science at field studies centres in the UK, France and Morocco since 1994. Currently head of a centre in the Cevennes National Park in France, Sam has taken students on expeditions around the world, from the jungles of Borneo to the Sahara Desert.
