Educationalist Guides for history groups

Our expert guided study tours are hugely popular with History groups. All of our guides are professional academics, historians and writers, with incomparable knowledge of their subject area and an ability to communicate their learning in a way that will enlighten and stimulate your students.

What will your guide do for you?

When you book an NST guided study tour, we will select a guide from our specialist team to meet your exact visit requirements. Whilst on tour, your guide will be with you to provide both local knowledge and educational support – helping you to get the most from your time outside of the classroom.

Specialist knowledge

Our guides are former teachers with detailed knowledge of the current curriculum, meaning they are well-equipped to help meet your specific learning needs and understand the demands of organising a school tour, especially overseas.

NST History Educationalist Guides are available in many of our destinations and are experts in a variety of topics such as 20th Century History, Irish History, Third Reich to the End of the Cold War, The Holocaust, Nazism, WWI and WWII.

Help preparing your ideal itinerary

Your guide will contact you before your tour to discuss your learning objectives and build an itinerary that matches your requirements, enabling your group to get the most out of everyday.

More time for one-to-one teaching

With an NST guide leading the group, you will be able to provide individual tuition and enjoy the visits with your students. They'll liase with your coach driver, organise and navigate public transport. Liaise with visits, restaurants and suggest suitable lunch stops, souvenir shopping, parking and pick up points.

First evening talk

Your guide will hold an informal discussion on your first evening, setting the scene for upcoming visits and focusing your students on the days to come.

An opportunity to view WWI artefacts

Give your students the opportunity to look at a range of WWI artefacts up close. Our guides carry a number of items with them that students can handle, giving them an invaluable insight into the history of the battlefields.
