The centre of Ghent especially comes to life on Sunday mornings when, up to midday, there are no less than five different markets all within ten minutes walk of each other: antiques, animals, birds, flowers, and a painter’s market. There are also several interesting museums in the town - the Museum of Fine Arts, the Museum of Contemporary Art and the Folklore Museum.
